Born in Bordeaux on 15/03/1984 Graduated from the School of Fine Arts of Bordeaux in 2009 (DNAP), where he lives and leads, in parallel, an activity of visual artist and teaching.

"My approach is to design works that will respond to contemporary artistic issues (status of works in the digital period, the notion of aesthetics, the dissemination of art ...) while looking at societal issues (impact of human actions, environmental issues, relationships to living, links to culture ...)."

In a society of the image, the artist must differentiate himself to emerge from the continuous visual flow to which everyone is confronted. The term of flow is preferable, more precise, it includes two different concepts, on the one hand the idea of constant movement and, on the other hand, under hears a concept of abundance, of profusion. Artistically, the idea of a flow of images can refer to the diffusion of art throughout history (transportability of artworks, birth of photography, reproducibility and multiplication of images...) until the appearance of video, which can be compared to a photographic flow. The consequences of these technical contributions on the perception of the works and in the appearance of new artistic practices are deep. Today, we are in a continuous flow of images daily, through the media (TV, press), advertising (even in the street), internet and social networks, most of which are no longer chosen but imposed. My work puts into perspective these issues of abundance and dissemination of images (through the decision to work the still image, representation, materiality of works, and their conditions of display ...)

But how can the artistic image emerge, differentiate itself from this daily flow? What must be its specificity and can it still have one? To answer these problems, it is necessary that it finds an "aura" such as envisaged by Walter Benjamin.

The artwork must differentiate itself from its own image, and not be reduced only to its representation. This is all the more problematic in the case of reproducible works, how to make a photograph presented in an exhibition stand out from its digital version that can be diffused on the internet? To answer these problems I conceive my works as an encounter between the public and the artwork, an experience. In the case of the digital "frescoes"(giant digital pictures), these works are easily diffusable via screens (internet) or printable in consequent formats but they were conceived to be monumental, thus they take their full dimension, innumerable elements, indiscernible on a reduced scale, appear and all the richness of these pieces can be glimpsed. An immersive experience is then proposed to the spectators. In this way, to apprehend the work really and not its representation is, for the spectator, an atypical and not substitutable experience. Thus I manage to give this "aura" to contemporary works. By this positioning I free myself from mastering the diffusion of my works (via internet in particular) in the end what circulates is not the work, it has no value and can belong to the daily visual flow. However this representation can be a means for the public to reach the work by arousing its attention, to do this I rely on aestheticism.

It is a fact, we live a time of aesthetization, this one is present in all the domains to the point that the art seems to be diluted, as describes it Y.Michaud. Aesthetics understood as the transmission of sensations (pleasant or not) is no longer the privilege of art, it is generalized (advertising, marketing, press, design...) and is no longer sufficient to define what is only in the artistic field. If the aesthetic is used in all the fields, it is not insignificant, it is an efficient way to arouse the interest of the public (to confer a certain pleasure in order to sell him a means to reach it). I think that the art cannot escape this phenomenon, just as, historically it overcame deep questionings (consequences of the appearance of the photography on the painting for example) it must integrate that. Thus, my works provoke an aesthetic shock which is born of the richness of the compositions, of their complexity (accentuated by their monumentality in the case of the work itself), blurring their immediate legibility.

It is a way to seduce the spectator, to tear him away from the flow of images, at this precise moment, it is up to him to appropriate the work by going to meet it. The aesthetic allows to awaken the desire of artistic experience of the public. This aesthetic experience, which tends to a certain universality (the fact of feeling an emotion) makes the work potentially accessible to the greatest number however the finality of these images is not exclusively aesthetic. Several levels of reading are discernible in my work, often interspersed with references borrowed from the history of the Arts (Architecture, Painting, Contemporary Art), Popular Cultures (Comics, Tattoo) thus drawing up a panorama of my influences acquired both in my university course (History of the Arts), and during my travels. Great importance is given to the different stages of the creation process in order to create meaning, each constituent element is carefully chosen for its significance, whether it is the places where the photographs were taken or the origin and provenance of the materials of the sculptures.

The axis of research that runs through the whole of my practice is the organic. In the first place, this refers to organs, living tissue, flesh and the body. The drawing which remains the base of my work whatever the medium, after 10 years of practice in workshop, made emerge a questioning around this traditional subject. At first aesthetic, then, following my training at the Beaux Arts, I put in relation these questions to modern and contemporary issues (evolution of the representation of the body in art, body as a subject, as a work or in action ...). To arrive at asking myself how to reinvest, today, this hackneyed subject? It is the collision between my practice of drawing and the discovery of photography (as a practice), which will push me to glimpse this flesh body differently. The action of decontextualization of the image, the loss of sight of the subject, makes it possible to operate a "downgrading" of the object by making it lose its function. This downgrading, brings to the Informe such as defines it G.Bataille, this process abolished the dualities (the beautiful/the ugly, the noble/the ignoble, the real/fictive...). In a second time the term organic refers to a structure, to an arrangement, composing an organism. This idea of organic which is opposed semantically, to the functional term, refers to the Body without Organs (CsO) developed by G.Deleuze which refutes any notion of organization, applied to the body flesh, extendable to the social body, to the porosity real and fiction. Finally, the term organic implies at the same time the idea of living, autonomy, development, propagation, spreading, and invasion. Now all these notions are contained in my works, in a formal way in the very composition of the works, in the elements or the textures used. But above all, in the structuring of my practice, I alternate techniques, my works respond to each other, whatever the medium, the themes overlap, everything is intrinsically linked. The organic is this preponderant and federating element like a kind of indefinable biological entity which scatters and contaminates the whole of my work. The formless emerges, takes over my work, integrates and insinuates itself into the real or at least what remains of it. In this way, my work takes on a strange and disturbing aspect that stems from this reflection on the idea of formlessness, deformation, alteration and in its implementation (relationship between the representation and the support or its presentation). This echoes the concept of disturbing strangeness implemented by H. Bellmer, previously formalized by Freud under the term "Unheimliche" that we could summarize by the fact of feeling a strange sensation, disturbing even frightening in front of something familiar ("when the border between fantasy and reality is erased, when is presented to us as real something that we had considered until then as fantastic, when a symbol takes all the efficiency and all the significance of the symbolized, and other things of the same kind", S.Freud).
